"The 20 Keys-System" to improve products and processes
A holistic system to improve efficiency while integrating both managers and employees based on a graphic benchmark system
For organizations looking for an improvement system which systematically involves all employees in a continuous process of improving products and processes in manufacturing and administration alike.
All these requirements are met by the 20 Keys-System. The 20 Keys originate from Japan, the cradle of Kaizen. Managers and employees are guided through the plain system of graphical benchmark in a structured way. The Benchmark-System includes a measuring method that enables a transparent and comprehensive company development.
High implementation levels and sustainability are ensured by especially trained Key-Experts, who have the relevant expertise for a key and act as internal advisors. The "20 Keys-System" was developed by Prof. Iwao Kobayashi in Japan during the 1980s and has been implemented successfully throughout the world over the last 20 years.
Iwao Kobayashi´s son, Dr. Yoshiyuki Kobayashi has established an international network providing a continuous exchange of know-how in order to develop the benefits for the customers further.
A 20 Keys World Congress takes place every year at which approx. 20 successful implementations are presented. Moreover we visit three companies in the region which have implemented the 20 Keys to experience success on site.
This year the annual 20 Keys-World
Conference is taking place in Japan from 6 to 12 November 2010

20 Keys Success-Story for Factory and Office
With this system, Professor Iwao Kobayashi created an excellent tool to increase efficiency in production and administration 20 years ago.
This know-how is implemented successfully in all continents using a global network of consultants.
The Consulting concept is based on the training and develpoment of in-house 20-Keys Experts who, as very well-trained experts, encourage the improvement process in the company in cooperation with the management. Supporting target achievement for the management is a key task of the 20 Keys-System.
This purpose requires a method which is measurable and at the same time enables a holistic company development. For easy understanding of the 20 fields of action, Professor Kobayashi has created a graphical benchmark system, which is used by all employees and managers as a continuous measuring method. Thus the departments of a company are becoming transparent and a “sportive” competition arises which analyses the progress of optimization.
Under the 20 Keys System the focus topics of quality improvement, cost-cutting and acceleration of logistics are divided in 20 fields of action for improvement.
The cooperation of experts from the factory world and office world and the joint implementation of all improvement measures are further reasons for the success of the 20 Keys.
